A teenage singer-songwriter has reached the regional finals of a singing competition.

Anna Wells, 16, a pupil at Trinity Catholic High School, in Mornington Road, Woodford Green, will take part in the regional finals of Teenstar singing competition on March 9 at Camden Roundhouse.

She will be performing her own material at the event where she will be one of 25 teenagers who made it through to the regional finals out of over 10,000 applicants.

Miss Wells plays piano and is also self-taught on the guitar.

The overall winner will be compete at the national finals in July and will win £5,000 to establish and promote their act further.

Teenstar was won last year by X Factor 2013 finalist Luke Friend.
