A teacher scooped a charity award at a Institute of Education conference last week.
Angela Euseden, Assistant Head for Early Years and Teacher in Nursery at Aldersbrook Primary School in Ingatestone Road, Wanstead, was awarded the Montessorian Practitioner of the Year 2014.
She was nominated by headteacher Miz Mann in recognition of her oustanding contibution to Montessori practice at a Institute of Education conference on Saturday.
Aldersbrook Primary School is the first school to be funded by the St Nicholas Montessori Charity, and their entire early years staff team are trained by the charity to achieve a Montessori Diploma.
Montessori schools use an approach to early-years teaching that focuses on the capacity of children to absorb information when given the freedom and independence to learn at their own pace.
