Four men were arrested on suspicion of various offences after the vehicle they were travelling was stopped and searched.

The silver transit van was pulled over by police outside North Chingford library in Station Road at midday on Sunday.

Police searched the van and arrested the four men on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, going equipped to steal and possession of cannabis.  

The four men, aged 26, 25, 23 and 21, all from Chingford, have all been bailed unitl May 12 pending further enquiries.
