A man is due in court today charged with sending abusive tweets to Walthamstow MP Stella Creasy.

Ms Creasy was targeted along with journalist Caroline Criado-Perez after they campaigned for Jane Austen to feature on £10 banknotes.

In January of this year, Peter Nunn, 33, of Emersons Green in Bristol, was charged with sending malicious communications to Ms Creasy and Ms Criado-Perez between July and August of last year.

Nunn pleaded not guilty to the charge at Westminster Magistrates Court on February 6.

He will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court today.
