There is severe disruption on the Central line due to strike action.

No services are running between Leytonstone and White City, while there is severe delays between Leytonstone and Epping.

There is no service between Leytonstone and Woodford via Hainault and between West Ruislip and North Acton. Sever delays are occuring between White City and Ealing Broadway.

There is also no service on the Waterloo & City line.

Transport for London is providing extra buses on routes affected.

Members of the Aslef union, who work on the Central line, walked out from 12.01am this morning for 24 hours.

Aslef district organiser  Finn Brennan said London Underground was showing a lack of respect for drivers and claimed there was a bullying culture on the line.

Mr Brennan, said: "We believed we were making genuine progress right up until this morning, when management moved their position back from agreements made in the week.

"We are deeply disappointed. To be honest it is symptomatic of problems on the Central Line. It's a management that doesn't really seem to understand the problems of the staff, and they're not trusted by the staff to honour agreements.

"People suffering from genuine illnesses are leaving sickness reviews in tears because of the lack of empathy and support.

"There's a culture of bullying on the Line, it's quite clear that the management believe that the only way to manage is by using a big stick."

Nigel Holness, operations director for London Underground, said: “Despite some progress being made during talks, ASLEF leadership have decided to press ahead with this unnecessary strike action and disrupt  customers journeys this morning.

"Our staff and volunteers are working hard this morning to keep London moving and I would advise our customers where possible, please  plan ahead and check before you travel.”
