A police helicopter was scrambled following reports of guns spotted in Walthamstow, it has emerged.
The air support unit and specialist officers from the Metropolitan Police firearms unit were called to Durban Road on August 19 to reports of firearms being used in the street.
At around 8.20pm, police announced they had been called to an incident in E17 and a firearm was recovered.
Upon arrival, officers arrested two 14-year-olds on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm.
Both boys were released with no further action.
