Police have confirmed a man struck by an Overground train last week was from Walthamstow. 

Emergency services were called to St James Street station in Walthamstow shortly before 11pm on August 18. 

British Transport Police were called following reports of a person on the track and have now confirmed the person killed was a 22 year-old. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

His family has been informed and the death is not currently being treated as suspicious.
