A summit on humanitarian response to the conflict in Syria is to be held in Waltham Forest.

Representatives from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Department for International Development, the Charity Commission and Walthamstow charity Active Change Foundation will discuss the issue and answer audience questions.

The government has so far pledged £600m in aid to the region during the conflict, which has led to millions of people being displaced.

The event takes place at the SCORE Community Building in Oliver Road, Leyton on September 1.

It starts at 6pm and is open to all.
