A car accident has left one passenger with serious spinal injuries.
Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene off Sewardstone Road in Waltham Abbey at around 10.50pm on Saturday following reports of a car leaving the road and rolling into a ditch.
Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to free the three casualites.
Two casualties were treated at the scene before being taken to Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone with minor injuries.
One passenger was taken by ambulance to the Royal London Hospital with what were described by the East of England Ambulance Service as 'potentially life changing' spinal and back injuries.
