A primary school has unveiled the final piece of its new building, a stained glass window.
Moreton C of E Primary School in Ongar revealed the window, which was a gift from headteacher Linda Wiskin, yesterday.
The handmade window, which took over 8 months to complete, was the finishing piece to the new school building which was completed last summer.
The piece, which was created by Artist Julian Davey, is a montage of the holy cross and a starburst and is referred to by staff as a ‘work of art’.
The window replaces the gap of an old office window and was unveiled by Mrs D Milne, Chair of Governors at the school and blessed by Rev Tim Elbourne, Diocesan Director of Education at the school in Church Road.
Ms Wiskin said: “I had the window made as a gift from myself to the school and it was fitted over the school holidays.
“It really is a work of art, it is beautiful.”
