The public is being asked how Waltham Forest council should save £45m by 2018.

The authority has saved £68million since 2010 and previously consulted residents on their policy priorities, but must continue to make cuts due to an ongoing cut in central government funding and has launched further consultation.

A tool on the council’s website allows users to calculate how much of the town hall budget can be allocated to frontline services.

Ring-fenced spending on public health and housing has been taken out of the budget simulator.

The results will inform future policies.

Council leader Chris Robbins is urging residents to get involved.

He said: "I am determined to continue to deliver improvements over the next four years, so once again we want to hear from you on the services that matter most.

"This is your chance to tell us how to spend our budget, so I urge everyone to get involved and have their say."

Residents can also have their say by filling out a questionnaire, which will be available in libraries and stalls across the borough.
