A plaque is to be unveiled with the names of 10 men whose names were left off war memorial.
Investigations by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and Buckhurst Hill British Legion earlier this year revealed that the men, who lived locally, had been omitted from the memorial at St John’s Church in High Road, Buckhurst Hill.
It is still unknown as to why the names were not included.
A bronze plaque with the names of the men will be officially unveiled and dedicated by Canon Gaunt Hunter, former Vicar at St John’s, on November 9th at a Remembrance Ceremony hosted by Buckhurst Hill Sports and Social Club.
The event will take place at St John's Church at 10.45am and is open to members of the public.
