A plan to build ten homes on a nursery site has been withdrawn the day before a decision was due.

The proposed development off Hoe Lane in Nazeing included ten five-bedroom houses with associated amenity space and off street parking.

Nazeing Town Council did not object to the plans, but district council planners said there was a shortage of school places in the area.

It was proposed that applicants C Shorter, M Frederick & J Marsetic contribute £36,000 towards education and extra transport costs.

The plan included the demolition of large nursery glasshouses and industrial buildings.

A council spokesperson said: “An application for the construction of 10 new dwellings on land off Hoe Lane in Nazeing has been withdrawn by planning officers following further advice from consultants.

“It was the first item on the agenda at the area plans west committee on tomorrow. We have written to neighbours to let them know.”
