A reckless driver has been disqualified from driving and fined £620 after seriously injuring a pedestrian.
Chrisostomos Toumazos, 57, of Traps Hill in Loughton, appeared in Chelmsford Magistrates Court yesterday (June 30) charged with driving without care and attention in Alderton Hill, Loughton on November 19.
The 57-year-old struck a pedestrian who was using a pelican crossing leaving her with a deep cut across her kneecap and hospitalised for nine days.
Toumazos pleaded guilty to the charge and was banned from driving for three months.
He was also ordered to pay a fine of £620, a £62 victim surcharge and £90 in costs.
