A SCHOOL have been ranked in the top 10 per cent of the best in the country.

Davenant Foundation School, in Chester Road, Loughton, were given the news after data was released by the Schools, Students and Teachers network (SSAT) last week.

The data shows that the school are in the top 10 per cent of schools on attainment throughout the country.

The school will be presented with the SSAT Educational Outcomes Award at an upcoming celebration.

Chief executive of SSAT, Sue Williamson, said: “We know how hard teachers work to ensure the professionalism, commitment, and hard work of the leaders, teachers and students at Davenant Foundation School.

Head teacher, Adam Thorne, said: “The school would like to thank staff, students and parents for their work that led to this award. We are very proud of our students and of what they have achieved. Current Year 11 students, along with their teachers, are busy preparing for this year’s exams and we are sure this high level of excellence will continue into the future.”
