West Ham continued their pre-season preparations with a goalless draw at Ipswich Town last night in their final domestic friendly before heading to New Zealand.

Sam Allardyce shuffled his pack once more, with only James Tomkins, Mark Noble and former Tractor Boy, Aaron Cresswell, starting for the second consecutive pre-season game.

The Hammers enjoyed the early territory and created a number of chances, with Cheikh Kouyate almost connecting with a cross and Matt Jarvis stabbing a shot over on the stretch.

Cresswell - who only joined from the Suffolk club this summer - almost opened his West Ham account by striking the bar and Mo Diame saw an effort deflected wide as the visitors continued to make chances.

Stewart Downing then shot narrowly over before young Town forward Jack Marriott dragged an excellent opportunity wide of Jussi Jaaskelainen's goal.

Both Allardyce and Town boss Mick McCarthy made 11 changes at half-time and the game lost some of its fluidity as a result.

Young Hammers forward Seb Lletget tried his luck twice after the restart; shooting into the grasp of substitute goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski before straining to head wide.

The duel between goalkeeper and forward continued shortly after, Bialkowski impressing to deny Lletget from 15 yards with a left-footed effort.

Ricardo Vaz Te ought to have converted when youngster Paul McCullam pulled across the face of goal but the Portuguese placed wide from a good position late on.

The Hammers are back in action on Wednesday, July 23 when they face Wellington Phoenix.

West Ham United first half: Jaaskelainen; Demel, Collins, Tomkins, Cresswell; Noble, Kouyate; Diame; Jarvis, C.Cole & Downing.

West Ham United second half: Adrian; O'Brien, Chambers, Reid, Page; Cullen, Nolan, Poyet; Vaz Te, Zarate & Lletget.
