Borough of Waltham Forest Swimming Club (Gators) swimmers earned 38 medals and 96 personal bests at the club's second home gala at the London Aquatic Centre.

More than 20 clubs, travelling from as far as Norfolk, came to compete in the level three, one-day long course event.

Gators swimmers performed with great determination and they achieved 96 personal bests between them. The total medal haul was 38, the club's swimmers taking home 14 golds, 15 silvers and nine bronzes.

Head coach Gavin Poval commented: "It was an excellent event and our swimmers swam amazingly, lots of them achieved their Essex County times. Well done to all of them."

Eleven-year-old Rebecca Armstrong put on a strong performance to came first in five events with ten-year-old Neha Pillai winning four golds and one bronze.

Pillai swam a the 50m freestyle in a  time of 32.68. Meanwhile, 11-year-old Max Trayner had great success, winning four silver medals.

Christopher Richards, 9, picked up six medals including three silvers and three bronzes.

The Gators are now looking forward to their next gala which will be held at the London Aquatic Center on January 3, 2016.
