McCANN, Joyce Lillian Head of Wanstead House Community Association for 30 years until her retirement, passed away aged 81 at her home in Denton Northamptonshire on January 9th. From her birth in Hackney, London on March 22nd 1936 until her death last month, she sucked the marrow out of life, relishing family, friends, work and travel. She was the third of five children born to her parents John and Lilian Morgan. She married the love of her life, Derek McCann, in 1957 and they remained happily together until his death in 2006. Joyce was always confident that they would be re-united and did not fear death. She is survived by three children, Mitchell, Janice and Lauren; nine grandchildren, Charles, Derek, James, Liam, Kristy, Madeleine, Emily, Amy and Rosina; four siblings, Evelyn, Ronnie, Rosalie and Linda and many nephews, nieces and cousins. The funeral service will be at 1:15pm on Tuesday February 20th at The Counties Crematorium, Towcester Road, Northampton NN7 3AP. In keeping with the way she lived her life, she requested no black at the service dress to party! In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joyce's name to the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth.
