THEYDON BOIS: Huge drugs factory busted by police

ONE of the largest ever illegal drugs factories in Essex has been discovered in Theydon Bois.

Police said they found more than 5,000 cannabis plants worth over £1million after raiding a warehouse there yesterday.

The exact location of the site has not been revealed by officers, as they are still searching the area.

Along with the drugs, three large generators and associated hydroponic equipment were seized by police at the scene.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and is currently being quizzed at Harlow police station.

Western Division commander Chief Supt Tim Stokes said that the plants and equipment were found following the execution of a search warrant by Essex Police and the Serious Organised Crime Agency.

More details are expected to be released later by Essex Police.

The real Theydon Bois is certainly hidden behind that 'pretty, quiet village' disguise

With the 195 closed in Epping I suppose the sales would have dropped off locally. Anyone any guesses about which local businesses are laundering the proceeds?

I am having difficulty working out where there is a warehouse in Theydon Bois. Maybe it is a farm building?

Can't say I'm surprised about clandestine operations going on behind the facade of quiet village life although the scale is quite surprising.
