LEYTONSTONE promoters What's Cookin' return this weekend with another monthly show.

Michael Messer and Ed Genis top the bill at the gig, which is at the North Star off the High Road on Sunday (November 21).

The duo have toured extensively around Europe and Canada since the 1980s, bringing to the people their unique blend of roots and blues.

Canadian singer-songwriter Adrian Glynn supports.

The music starts at 7pm and entry is free.

And yes, it's that time of the month again this weekend at The Plough Inn on Wood Street, Walthamstow, with Tunnel Vision Friday (November 19).

Acts on the bill include Graham Larkbey and the Escape Committee and The New Giants.

Also due to take to the stage is banjo maestro Russ Chandler.

The jaunty tunes get going at 8.30pm till late. Entry is free.

Sara Grey and Kieron Means play a medley of traditional British and American folk at The Plough on Sunday night (November 21).

The gig, organised by Walthamstow Folk Club, gets going at 7.30pm. Admission is £6, or £5 for concessions.

Then it's free blues jam night at the pub on Monday (November 22). The music starts at 9pm.

Vibraphone specialist Jim Hart plays the East Side Jazz Club in Leytonstone next Tuesday (November 23).

Doors open at 8.30pm and admission to the avenue, at the Lord Rookwood in Cann Hall Road, is £5.

Next Monday (November 22) Waltham Abbey Folk Club hosts a Singaround night.

It starts at their venue in Brooker Road at 8.30pm. Entry is £1.50p.

Our People Versus Your People headline the Standard Music Venue in Blackhorse Lane, Walthamstow, on Thursday (November 18).

Support acts include rockers Burn So Bright.

Tickets are £6 on the door, or £5 for those with a band flyer.

The night kicks off at around 8.30pm.

Tribute funsters Pearl Jammed play the Standard on Friday (November 19). It costs £9 and doors are at 8.30pm.

Whitesnake UK play on Saturday (November 20). Admission is £12 and doors are at 8pm.
