LEGENDARY punk band Sham 69 headline the Standard this Thursday (February 17).
Not only will the group be playing the Walthamstow venue, in Blackhorse Road, they will also be recording their performance for a new live album due for release later this year.
Support comes from Walthamstow band The Anoraks and the gig is organised by local promoters Club Bus Wind.
Tickets are £7 and are only available on the night. Doors open around 8pm. Expect the show to be loud and sweaty.
Continuing the rocking weekend at the venue are Airforce, who play on Friday (February 18). Entry is £5 and doors are at 8pm.
Then on Saturday (February 19) it's the turn of tribute act The Alter Eagles. Tickets cost £9 and doors are from eight. However if raucous rock isn't your thing, Loughton Folk Club hosts a slightly more gentle evening on Thursday (February 17) with performances from Micky Brown and Richie Barratt.
The night starts at 8pm at the Loughton Club building in Station Road. Entrance is £2, or £1 for club members.
Meanwhile Waltham Abbey Folk Club hosts a Singaround jam night on Monday (February 21).
Entry is £1.50p and it starts at 8.30pm at Royal British Legion clubhouse in Brooker Road.
Tribute act DeadBelgian play Walthamstow Folk Club's night at Ye Olde Rose and Crown in Hoe Street, Walthamstow, this Sunday (February 20).
The Liverpudlian four piece cover the tunes of influential songwriter Jacques Brel.
Admission is £6 or £5 for concessions.
The pub hosts a blues jam night on Monday (February 21) courtesy of the Battered Saucepan band.
It gets going in the main bar from 8.30pm and entry is free.
Multi-instrumentalist American wonder Aaron Jonah Lewis plays the North Star pub in Leytonstone on Thursday (February 17).
The show, organised by promoters What's Cookin', also features support from country ballad writer Richard Warren a.k.a 'Echoboy', who once turned down a chance to join Oasis. It starts at 8pm and entry is free – although donations for the performers are welcome.
It's a busy week at the North Star with another show on Sunday night (February 20).
The Ragged String Band will be busting out their glorious mix of country, blues and folk, while support act The Snakes are scheduled in to deliver some of their good time country rock and roll.
This show gets going from 7pm and entry is again free.
