IN February 2011 a delegation of students and staff will embark on a visit to New Delhi, India as part of the school’s involvement with the ‘International Inspirations’ programme.
The programme forms part of the London 2012 Olympic legacy.
St John’s School has already established links with JNV Mothuka school in Faridabad near Delhi.
In April 2009, headteacher Mr Yerosimou and deputy headteacher Mrs Smith visited India and laid down plans for future collaboration.
During the visit students will work with JNV Mothuka and other schools in Delhi towards sharing Olympic values through sports leadership.
They will develop cultural and community understanding between our two countries. The visit will also include an excursion to the iconic Taj Mahal.
The lucky students selected will be the next phase of this exciting opportunity.
On their return to the United Kingdom, they will be sharing their experiences with other students throughout the school and in the wider community.
