Spurs on red alert after Cameroon ace admits he'd relish playing in the Premier League

SAMUEL Eto'o has put Tottenham on red alert by admitting that he would welcome a move to the Premier League.

Spurs boss Juande Ramos has been linked with a £15 million move for the Barcelona striker as he seeks a replacement for wantaway Dimitar Berbatov.

And the Spaniard will be delighted to hear that Cameroon international Eto'o (pictured) reckons he could be a big hit in the Premier League.

"The Premiership is a top league, so to play there will be fantastic and a good challenge," Eto'o told Skysports.com.

"I want to be a top scorer there as well. I am a top plater and I can play in any country."

Should Spurs fail to sign Eto'o, Ramos is believed to be ready with a bid for Chelsea star Nicolas Anelka.

Spurs have reportedly already made an enquiry for the French international.

According to the Daily Mail, Spurs would be willing to pay £15 million to lure Anelka - who only joined the west Londoners from Bolton in Jaunary - to White Hart Lane.

Valencia striker David Villa remains another target.
