VOLUNTEERS are wanted by the Epping Forest North Division of Girl Guiding UK.
The Guiding UK headquarters has launched a recruitment initiative, Project 50K, at the heart of which is "the 12-hour challenge". The scheme asks prospective volunteers to give just 12 hours out of the 8,765 in the year to help Guiding in some way.
A Guiding UK spokesman said:"There are many ways in which a person could help support a unit from photocopying and shopping, helping on a rota or weekly basis to being the treasurer or secretary and helping on residential or day trips."
The Epping Forest North Division will hold a recruitment drive on the week beginning Monday, March 26. Over the week volunteers will be distributing posters and leaflets and will be out in the area, including Epping, Ongar, Waltham Abbey and Theydon Bois, providing information about how people can support Guiding in some way.
This will be followed by a welcome and information meeting at Epping Junior School, St John's Road, at 1pm on Saturday, April 28 when there will be displays, information, activities and Guiders to talk with about the organisation.
