A MAN needed 12 stitches in a head wound after he was assaulted in Limes Avenue. Chigwell, when he refused to hand over his mobile phone.
Police said the 46-year-old man from central London was approached by three black men shortly after midnight on Sunday, August 5. When he did not hand over the phone he was hit over the head with a heavy metal object, believed to be a wheel brace.
The man was treated at Queens Hospital, Romford.
