A MUSLIM place of worship could be built on Gilwell Park after the Scout Association formally lodged a planning application for a single-storey building at the site, off Bury Lane, near Waltham Abbey.
If successful, the scheme will offer a place for Muslim scouts to pray.
A similar application was turned down in October 2006 after district council officers decided it would have a harmful impact on the green belt.
