A WOMAN has been sexually assaulted in the back of a taxi in Waltham Abbey.

Police said the 25-year-old east London woman was attacked on the A121 between Shernbroke Road and the M25 at 12.30am on Saturday.

A police spokesman said the woman had got into the taxi in Hackney, east London.

She managed to get out of the taxi and was found on the roadside, without any shoes.

Police say her attacker was white, aged in his 20s, slim and with short brown hair.

Anyone with any information about the incident - who saw a suspicious vehicle in the area of the A121 - should ring Waltham Abbey CID on 0300 333 4444, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
