Waltham Forest Under-8s played their first ever competitive matches on Saturday against Old Loughtonians - and won.
The youngsters, nicknamed 'the Saplings', have been playing informally for a few weeks but this was their first organised game.
Despite creating a number of good chances, Loughts As ran out 4-0 winners but The Saplings tasted success for the first time in their second game against Loughts Bs.
Cole put the debutants in front before Loughts found an equaliser. The Saplings in turn upped their game, with playmaker Kayden playing a lovely through ball to Abi to slot home to make it 2-1.
Again Old Loughts pressed, and despite excellent defending from Oscar, drew level at 2-2.
With a minute left however, the Saplings went on the attack as Kayden, Abi and Cole connected well before Reggie found himself in space on the left to shoot and score for the Under-8s first victory.
