West Ham United have been linked with a surprise move for Seattle Sounders striker Obafemi Martins.
The 29-year-old has scored eight goals in 22 games for Seattle but with MLS currently it its off-season, a loan move could be a possibility.
Irons boss Sam Allardyce worked with the striker at Newcastle and a short-term deal would benefit both Martins and the Hammers.
West Ham need to strengthen their attacking options while the move would boost Martins' hopes of securing a place in Nigeria’s World Cup squad.
