Waltham Forest registered only their fourth win of the Ryman North season on Saturday with a 1-0 victory at Wroxham.

Only one player remained from the Stags team that started the 3-2 win in the reverse fixture in August.

Forest keeper Amadou Tanagara had to be on top form in the first half to deny Joe Marsden while Leon Fisher and Hussein Isa both went close for Forest.

Fisher again almost opened the scoring for the Stags just after the hour-mark but the Wroxham keeper was equal to the shot.

Stephanne Koffi grabbed the winner for Forest seven minutes from time as his speculative effort was deflected up and into the back of the net.

Wroxham desperately searched for an equaliser but Forest stood firm and went home with a much-needed three points.

Forest's scheduled game at home to Burnham Ramblers on Boxing Day was postponed.

The Stags take on Redbridge on Wednesday.

The Motormen have not played since December 17 after their matches against Erith & Belvedere and Barkingside were postponed over the festive period.

The games have been rescheduled for January 7 and 13 respectively.

Waltham Abbey lost 2-0 to league leaders VCD Athletic on Saturday.

The Abbotts are 14th in the table ahead of a trip to Cheshunt on Wednesday.
