Waltham Forest ladies scored a late winner to beat Bexleyheath and Belvedere 1-0 in Division 2SE on Saturday.

Katherine Abbie grabbed the decisive goal in the last three minutes of the game to seal all three points and keep Forest in touch with the promotion challengers.

Forest settled well into the match but found it difficult to sustain their passing in the first half as BBHC disrupted their flow and made chances of their own with their hard-hitting game.

The second half saw an improvement in Forest’s play but the visitors continued to miss chances and BBHC almost capitalised with some good counter-attacking play.

Morag Campbell’s player of the match performance in goal kept Forest in the game with some excellent saves before Abbie secured the win late on.

Waltham Forest men came from two goals down to record an excellent 3-2 victory over Ipswich in Premier B.

A shaky start saw Ipswich, who are challenging for promotion this season, take a 2-0 lead but Forest looked comfortable thereafter.

A deflected cross found Nico Kurt free at the back post to score and a well-worked short corner allowed Ed Jackson to level things up at half-time.

Forest carried their momentum into the second half with James Price and Liam Radley causing problems with their pace.

It was Price who created the winner too as he earned a short corner from which Kurt converted with a drag flick to seal a superv victory.
