Essex Premier Cup

Kelvedon Hatch thrashed the holders Gas Recreation 7-3 on route to the semi-finals of the Essex Premier Cup on Saturday.

Midfielder Reiss Kingsley was in fine form as he bagged a hat-trick. Chris Muir grabbed a brace while Lee Cody and Mike Daniels were also on the score sheet.

Joining them in the last four will be May & Baker E.C. who beat Rayleigh Town 3-2.

Ryan Parker scored twice as well as Jack Shepherd hitting the net.

Rayleigh’s goals came from Peter Beaumont and Lewis Manor.

Harold Wood Athletic needed extra-time against Frenford Senior but eventually came out 2-1 victors.

It was a tight match between Old Chelmsfordians and Newbury Forest in the fourth round but Fortest eventually came through 3-2.

The goals came from Toch Singh, Matt Connolly and a Bradley Gates penalty.

Forest now meet Manford Way in the quarter-finals.

Marti Cullum scored a penalty for Old Chelmsfordians with Paul Ellis adding the other consolation goal.

Premier Division

Southminster St Leonards have opened up a five-point lead at the top of the table after they came away from Manford Way with a 1-0 win.

Scott Pethers finally broke the deadlock to claim all three points.

Bishop's Stortford Swifts returned to winning ways in style as they slammed five past Hannakins Farm to notch a 5-1 win.

Gavin Cockman inflicted the most damage as he scored a hat-trick with Anthony James and Dean McAteer also on target.

Hannakins scored a consolation from a George Lay assist.

Division One

Canning Town surprised league-leaders Hutton with a 4-0 demolition.

Courtney Linton grabbed a brace while Carl Mullings also hit the net with an own-goal completing the scoring.

Linton have now scored 12 goals in 12 games and the win moves Canning Town up to third.

Springfield drop down to fourth after they lost 1-0 at Benfleet.

The win moves the hosts away from the relegation zone.

Leigh Ramblers strengthened their promotion credentials with a 2-1 win at Old Barkabbeyans.

Max Corrigan and Jack O’Connor scored the goals for the away team. Newham United’s 2-0 home win over Galleywood moves them out of the relegation zone while Herongate drop into it by only drawing 3-3 with Westhamians.

Dan Chambers, Glen Warwick and Nick Fitzpatrick grab the Herongate goals. Dan Wheeler scores twice for Westhamians with Charlie Bland scoring the other.

Division Two

Ongar Town top the division and opened up a three-point lead over Runwell Hospital after they beat Upminster 4-2.

Ben Polley scored twice to bring his tally this season up to 21. Adam Collier and Niki Love were the other scorers for Ongar.

Runwell Hospital lost to Debden Sports 2-0 in a promotion six-pointer.

Debden scored via Matt Dodds and Ian Sawyer and now move to within two points of second place. Shenfield AFC came away from bottom placed Broomfield with a 4-1 victory that sees them sit third.

Billy Texeira scored twice and Ben Absolom and Francis Wright notched a goal apiece.

John Greenhill scored the Broomfield goal.

Roydon and Ryan played out a 1-1 draw.

Ross Oakley scored for Roydon with Steve Bonner doing likewise for Ryan.

Basildon Town came away from Toby with all the spoils as Tom Wright and Tom Main bagged a brace each to seal a 4-3 win.

Division Three

Rochford Town’s seized the initiative in the promotion hunt with a 5-1 win over Alemite Athletic.

Jamie Salmon scored twice with the other goals scored by Wesley Aldridge, Ryan Lancaster and Mark Pope.

Sungate beat Catholic United 2-0 thanks to goals from David Whiting and Alex Gipps.

Loass and Ramsden Scotia couldn't be separated in a 2-2 draw.

Jonjo Walsh and Aaron Sommers netted for Loass but John Burdett ensured the spoils were shared with a double for Ramsden Scotia.
