Ben Alnwick has left Leyton Orient by mutual consent after his contract was cancelled.
The goalkeeper signed from Charlton Athletic on transfer deadline day in January but made just one appearance, away at Rotherham United, before being signed off work for personal reasons.
“Unfortunately the move did not work out in the way that either the player or the club would have wanted and so we have come to an agreement with Ben that it is best if we part ways," said chief executive Matt Porter.
“Sometimes these things happen and it’s not something that anyone could have seen happening, particularly so soon in to his time with us, but we have moved on and I’m sure Ben will too.”
Alnwick said: “I’m sorry for how things have worked out but I’d like to thank the club for their support throughout this time and wish them all the best for the future."
