Lochlan Bearman finished sixth in the Mini Max Stars Championships at Whilton Mill on Sunday to leave him sixth in the Mini Max standings overall.

Bearman raced impressively all day after enjoying an excellent practise session on Saturday, where he was the fastest on the grid.

In heat one, the 12-year-old displayed a superb double overtake to take second spot after starting in 15th.

The second heat saw the young racer battle up the grid from seventh to third.

Bearman finished third in the third heat after challenging the leaders throughout the race, but just falling short after a good drive.

This resulted in the Theydon Bois driver starting the final race second on the grid.

After tussling in the top four for large parts of the final, Bearman clashed with another kart and finished in sixth.

However Bearman was pleased with his overall performance and will be looking to rise up the rankings at his next race meeting at Whilton Mill on May 25.
