Woodford Green with Essesx Ladies' Daniel Rowden broke a 13-year-old club record on Saturday in another busy weekend for the club.

In the BMC Grand Prix in Watford on Saturday, Under-17 Rowden broke Chris Reynold's long-standing 800m club record by crossing the line in 1.52.37.

At the Loughborough International on Sunday, Dan Awde - recently selected for the World Relay Championships - won the 400m, improving his time to 45.85.

Nathan Wake also recorded a personal best in Loughborough, coming second in the 800m 'A' race in a time of 1.49.97.

In the men's hammer, Mark Dry narrowly beat Andy Frost as he placed second with 71.47m, Frost coming third with 70.67m.

Representing British Universities, BUCS Champion Youcef Zatat improved his personal best in the shot with 16.66m and competing as a guest, Anthony Oshodi also recorded a personal best of 17.27m.

At the Essex Championships held at Chelmsford on Sunday there were Essex titles for Joseph Dewar in the Under-20 100m, Omolulu Abiodun in the 100m, Kitty Eleaye in the long jump and Jessica Burgess in the Under-20 3000m.

At the Manchester City Games on Saturday, Tiffany Porter won the 100m hurdles in 12.65 and Shana Cox in the 200m in a time of 23.23.

Ed Shepherd and Gavin Lewis both recorded personal bests in the 1500m, Shepherd crossing the line in 3.53.22 in the 'D' race and Lewis in 3.55.79 in the 'E' race.

Tom Phillips enjoyed a rare outing in the 5000m, recording a personal best of 14.38.44 as he finished fourth in the 'B' race.
