Redbridge came fifth out of 13 London districts at the Essex Schools County Athletics Championships on Saturday.

In a team of 100 athletes, 18 returned home with medals in the largest schools athletics meeting outside of the National Schools Championships.

A first gold went Redbridge's way when Isabella Hoy from Wanstead High won the 1500m.

Usamah Patel of Seven Kings added a second gold in the boys 3000m, with Ahmed Abdullah from Forest Academy taking the bronze.

Redbridge struck gold once more when Daniel Richards of Trinity School stormed the boys 1500m.

Boris Boskov of King Soloman continued the district's success by winning the junior boys discus.

In the junior boys 100m, there were silver and bronze medals for Seyi Wilson-Oluwole (Valentines High School) and Shane Emmanuel (Oaks Park High School) respectively.

There were also silver medals for Zacheria Islam-Moore (Beal High School) in the year seven boys 200m, Adam Mountford (Wanstead High School) in the junior boys 300m, Ryan Beattie (Palmer Catholic Academy) in the junior boys hammer, Jack Maher(Palmer Catholic Academy) in the intermediate boys 800m, Rhianna Hepburn (Beal High School) in the year seven girls 100m and Amie Gilbert (King Soloman) in the junior girls hammer.

Bronze medals went to Philip Chinwuba (Palmer Catholic Academy) in the year seven shot, Pearce Christie (Palmer Catholic Academy) in the intermediate boys 200m, Aiobhen Pearce (Trinity) in the year seven 600m and Lara Atkinson (Ursuline High School) in the year seven 200m.
