Third XI Premier Division

Buckhurst Hill Thirds beat Wanstead and Snaresbrook Thirds by three wickets.

Visitors Buckhurst won the toss and bowled their hosts out for 163.

Opener Ali Wood (43) top-scored for Wanstead, whilst Daniel Golding took four for 48 for their opponents.

The visitors reached their target of 164 with three wickets in hand.

Ali Azad top-scored but fell two short of a half-century, whilst Dev Patel, James Fitzgerald and Walid Sherzai each took two wickets.

Woodford Wells Thirds suffered a heavy eight-wicket defeat at home to Chelmsford Thirds.

The hosts put up a target of 200 all out after being put into bat first, Mark Webb struck 46.

Ken Jones took an excellent four for 17 for the visitors.

An unbeaten 106 from opener David Thrift had Chelmsford well on their way to a winning total of 204 for four.

Third XI Division One

Wanstead and Snaresbrook Fourths won in commanding fashion at Hutton Thirds by seven wickets.

Put into bat first, the hosts were all out for 140.

Christopher Blake led the way with 41 and Steve Cotton added 30.

Joel Morris-Ley, Muhammad Arish and Sifth Ali all took two for 28 for the visitors.

The Wanstead reply was swift and effective, scoring 143 with seven wickets in hand.

Seventy-seven from Bilal Patel made a sizeable inroad on the hosts’ total with Jack Bolton (three for 38) the sole wicket taker for Hutton.

Fives and Heronians Thirds could only draw against Hornchurch Thirds despite a huge 191 from Ali Raza.

Raza’s knock set the visitors on their way to 279 for seven before declaring.

Barry Bones took four for 61 for the hosts.

However, despite the declaration, Fives could not take the hosts’ final wicket as they finished on 246 for nine.

Lowell Mason (75) top-scored as Hornchurch benefited from 40 extra runs.

Raza was dangerous with the ball too, taking four for 54.

Third XI Division Two

Billericay Thirds cruised to a 92-run victory at home to West Essex Thirds.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bowl but Billericay went on to post 200 for seven.

Lloyd Scott hit his way to 70 and Stephen Ash added 50 before being run out.

Yaseen Ali took three for 44 for the visitors.

Only three West Essex batsmen could manage double figures, with Usman Ikram’s 34 the highlight for the visitors.

Luke Smith helped himself to four for 31 with the ball.

Oakfield Parkonians Seconds were comfortably beaten by six wickets at Old Southendian and Southchurch Seconds.

Asked to bat first, the visitors managed 173 for eight in their overs allowance.

Paresh Kelly hit 42 and although all but four batsmen reached double figures, no-one could really push the score on.

Gary Threadgold was in form with the ball, claiming four for 61 for the home side.

Waj Ahmed (53) got Southendian off to a strong start, with James Lock adding a further 30 runs to the total of 174 for four.

Abdul Rehman Razzaq and Dilan Patel each claimed two wickets as Parks fell short.

Third XI Division Three

South Woodford Thirds drew at home to Hutton Thirds after failing to remove the visitors.

The hosts put up a sizeable target of 240 for five but fell two wickets shy of the win as Hutton held on with 164 for eight.

Loughton Fourths thrashed Stanford Le Hope Thirds by 189 runs away from home.

The hosts won the toss but could only remove one Loughton batsman as the visitors declared on 286 for one.

The away side proved to be equally effective with the ball, bowling out Stanford for just 97 to record a comprehensive win.
