Fourth XI Premier Division

Myles Joyce scored 78 to lead Chingford Fourths to an emphatic 127-run win over Chelmsford Fifths.

Opening the batting for the hosts, Joyce top-scored with 78, supplemented by 59 from Vatsal Patel.

Simon Trowell (three for 34) and Jamie Matthews (three for 42) starred for Chelmsford.

Chingford declared on 265 for seven in order to try and bowl out their visitors.

In reply, the away side struggled for runs. Sixty-five from Micky Burns moved the score along but Chelmsford were removed for 138.

Nishant Varshney took four for 31, making him the hosts’ most dangerous bowler.

Mark Wheeler helped himself to four for 19 as Buckhurst Hill Fourths crushed Harold Wood Fourths by six wickets.

Batting first, visitors Wood were reduced to 87 all out, with Wheeler the protagonist for the ruthless hosts.

The hosts then made heavy work of reaching 89 for four, with John Chipperfield Jnr (26) top scoring.

Woodford Green Thirds won by seven wickets at Hainault and Clayhall Fourths.

The home side batted first but regretted the decision when they were bowled out for 94.

Green eased to the win, losing three wickets en route to a match-winning total of 95.5.

Fourth XI Division One

Oakfield Parkonians Thirds were made to pay for a slow run rate as they lost at Wickford Fourths by four wickets.

The visitors declared on 169 for five but had taken 48 overs to reach their total.

Stefan Premadasan (45) and Vijay Vijayanathan (29 not out) top scored for Parks as Ian Brandle (two for 17) help restrict the attack.

The home side scored steadily in response, with Connor Etchells (39) and Matthew Avery (37) providing important knocks.

Wickford reached their target in 36 overs, with four wickets in hand.

Fourth XI Division Three

Oakfield Parkonians Fourths held on to draw against Orsett Fifths.

Visitors Orsett put up a good total of 243 before opting to declare, with openers William Gibbon (68) and Aiden Hudson (58) impressive with the bat.

Tariq Jameel took four wickets but was hit for 81 in the process.

Parks were wobbling at 91 for five, with Jameel the only batsman to score more than 20 runs.

The hosts managed to hold out though, finishing on 122 for eight as time ran out.

Mark Bull took two for 15 but it was not enough to remove the home side.

Fourth XI Division Two

Epping Thirds made hard work of putting Belhus Fourths to bed, eventually winning by four wickets.

Visitors Belhus struggled at the crease; with the 26 extras they accrued accounting for their highest individual score.

Neil Sullivan scored 26 and George Maidment added ten before their side were removed for just 88.

Sam Wilson did the bulk of the damage with the ball, taking three for 16 for Epping.

Tony Sanderson (23) and Saleem Raza (28) got Epping off to a bright start but that soon faded.

John Sanger (14) and Michael Edwards-Smith (1) carried Epping home, finishing on 89 for six.

Paul Whitlock was the chief source of problems of the hosts’ attack, taking four for 27.
