Third XI Division One

Some fine lower-order hitting could not prevent second-place Wanstead and Snaresbrook Fourths from losing by 36 runs at Chingford Thirds.

The hosts’ batsmen dictated proceedings from the off, with David Terrace (73) and Christopher Stephens (68) putting up big scores.

Wanstead’s bowling attack could not prevent the flow and the hosts declared on 270 for six.

Richard Offord took five for 64 for Chingford as the away side were bowled out for 234.

Deep Chauhan finished with three for 18 and Ryan Small claimed two for 18 as Buckhurst took control.

The visitors laboured to the win, losing early wickets on their way to 144; Nick Wright’s late 25 invaluable.

Kevin Roome (four for 30) saw his early breakthroughs prove in vain.

A poor batting display saw Chingford Fourths crumble to an eight-wicket loss at Woodford Green in the battle of the top two.

Second-place Chingford batted first having won the toss but were removed for just 102.

Yaseen Farooq (20) and Howard Nicholson (18 not out) grabbed some runs in the middle-order but Matt Trim (four for 22) took control with the ball.

Fourth XI Division Three

Oakfield Parkonians Fourths lost at Chingford Fifths by 48 runs but remain top of the league.

A bright start for Parks was ended abruptly when Sohail Qureshi and Jameel were removed in quick succession.
