Epping’s Naomi Harryman won bronze in the long jump for England on her international debut at the Cardiff SIAB Schools’ International Championships at the weekend.
Harryman, 16, who trains at Harlow Athletics Club, qualified to represent England the previous weekend after winning silver in the long jump at the English Schools Championships in Birmingham.
The teenager finished in third place in Wales behind Elizabeth Morland (5.87m) and Simi Fajemisin (5.79m) with a jump of 5.72m.
And Harryman, who lives in Thornwood Common, has set her sights on more major championships this year, including another possible international in heptathlon where she is currently UK number one.
Harryman is also England Indoor pentathlon champion and Essex County’s long jump, high jump and 80m hurdles champion.
