Troubled West Ham playmaker Ravel Morrison has emerged as a target for Championship side Cardiff City, according to the Independent.

The 21-year-old joined the Hammers from first club Manchester United in 2012 but has only made 22 appearances and scored five times in all competitions since his £650,000 switch.

Highly-rated at Old Trafford, the England Under-21 international has made headlines off the field recently and spent the last three months of last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers, helping the Hoops win promotion.

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan had suggested on talkSPORT last month Sam Allardyce was looking to sell Morrison but the Hammers boss has since denied the suggestion.

Despite that, Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bring Morrison to South Wales on a permanent basis, with a price of £3m touted.

Solskjaer and Morrison worked together at Manchester United during the Norwegian’s spell as the club’s reserve team manager.
