Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade believes their performance at the start of the second half was the key to their 3-2 victory at Peterborough United.

The O's dumped the cup holders and League 1 leaders out of the competition after a brace from Chris Dagnall and an effort from Bradley Pritchard.

Slade said: "I thought just after half-time was probably our best spell in all to be honest. It was a lovely 20 minute spell and Dagnall was instrumental in getting us that 3-1 lead."

Reflecting on the second goal, Slade said: “It was good build-up play. We were controlling the game and there was a nice little passage of play. The final ball, which is what we were asking for at half-time, was there. Dags still had plenty to do but he’s taken it really well with his first touch and it’s a great finish."

The only sour point was the dismissal of midfielder Romain Vincelot for two bookings which will keep him out of the next league match.

Slade said: "It was very close to me and there didn’t seem an awful lot in it to be honest. He went down very easily for the yellow card but there you go. When you’re on a yellow card maybe you’ve got to be that little bit more sensible."
