West Ham United defender-cum-midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate has been ruled out for six weeks with a groin injury he sustained during Saturday's 3-1 win over Liverpool.
Hammers co-chairman David Gold broke the news on Twitter, tweeting:
Bad news. C.Kouyate will be out for 6 weeks. He will probably miss 5 games and might be available for Aston Villa at home 8 nov. dg

Kouyate joined West Ham on a four-year deal from Anderlecht in the summer and has excelled at Upton Park, having played all five of the Hammers’ Premier League games prior to his injury.
The twenty-four year old will miss his first match on Saturday when the Hammers face Manchester United at Old Trafford.
