Caretaker boss Kevin Nugent has left out captain Nathan Clarke in his first game in charge against Rochdale following the departure of Russell Slade.
Shane Lowry is brought into the defence while there are recalls for Dean Cox, Darius Henderson and Chris Dagnall in place of Bradley Pritchard, David Mooney and Jay Simpson.
