Leyton Orient will host League 2 side Northampton Town in the quarter-finals of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy southern section after this morning's draw.
Jay Simpson's brace saw the O’s overcome Dagenham & Redbridge 2-0 on Tuesday evening to secure their place in the last eight of the southern section, and they will now host the high-flying Cobblers.
Chris Wilder’s side sit sixth in League 2, after narrowly avoiding the drop last season, and reached the quarter-finals by beating Portsmouth 2-1 on Tuesday.
Orient and Northampton last met in December 2012 – also in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy – with the O’s running out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from David Mooney (2) and Michael Symes.
The tie will be played in the week beginning November 10.
