A late winner saw FC Leytonstone slump to a 3-2 defeat against Millwall Elite on Sunday.

Zulqi Khan handed Leytonstone the ideal start inside the first ten minutes, embarking on a solo run before slotting home the opener.

However, a dubious penalty decision undid Khan’s good work and afforded Millwall the opportunity to equalise.

Millwall’s second also came from a dead ball situation; an inch-perfect free-kick guided home after a free-kick had needlessly been conceded just outside the penalty area.

Twenty minutes after the re-start, Leytonstone got back on level terms when Omer Bashir headed home from an Ahmed Arab corner.

The game looked to be heading towards a draw, until in the 85th minute Millwall re-took the lead with another header from a corner.

Reflecting on defeat in an end-to-end encounter, manager Munaf Abhram said: "It's not easy as every game brings a challenge and we know we have got to play well to win games and that was just not shown today.

"Despite doubtful penalty decisions we did not deserve to take anything from the match with the other two goals we conceded. But we have to learn from it and bounce back next week."
