Epping and Upper Clapton recorded back-to-back victories in the Essex League 1 by beating Maldon 35-13 on Saturday.
Visitors Maldon took an early lead and with Epping conceding a number of sloppy penalties, and with the hosts unable to get near the Maldon 22, the visitors scored a second unconverted try to further extend their advantage.
However, Epping ended the first period ahead thanks to tries by Tim Matthews and Kurtis Knightly, both of which were converted by Ross Stalley.
Further second-half tries from Matthews, Ryan Honey and debutant Connor Reynolds turned the game in Epping’s favour, with Reynolds and Knightly adding conversions to complete the turnaround and secure the points.
Epping travel to Burnham on Crouch on Saturday.
Eton Manor stretched their faultless start to the season to seven games on Saturday by beating Chingford 29-3 in the London League 1 North.
The win means Manor have won all seven of their league fixtures thus far this season and boast a three-point lead over second-placed Colchester. Chingford sit third - ten points off top spot.
Woodford won their first game of the season but still remain bottom of the table. A 13-10 victory over North Walsham was enough for Woodford, who are now just three points below second-bottom Ipswich.
In London 3 North East, Wanstead were comfortably beaten 36-12 at West Norfolk, but still sit in fourth place.
