Mauro Milanese insists he remains confident Leyton Orient can climb out of trouble despite falling into the relegation zone ahead of their clash with Crewe on Saturday.
The O’s are fourth from bottom in League One and have picked up just 16 points from 17 games, however, their Italian manager believes the team are playing well enough to avoid a relegation battle.
Milanese said: “I believe in the team because I’ve seen how they are playing in the games. I’ve seen how many chances we’ve had compared to the other teams, we are confident. I am focused on this weekend and confident that we will win our next game.
“I’m not worried about a relegation battle because I’ve seen the performances and we are still creating chances.
“We are very close to scoring more than the opponents. We need to be a bit more clinical and concentrate better at the back when we defend because at the moment we are paying for every little mistake we make.”
