Waltham Abbey slipped to 11th in Ryman League Division One North after they suffered a 3-0 defeat at AFC Sudbury on Tuesday night.

The home side went in front in the 21st minute of the game through Terry Rymer and their advantage was doubled immediately after the restart when Sam Clarke found the net.

Abbey weren’t able to find a response and the defeat was confirmed with 18 minutes remaining when an Abbey player turned the ball into his own net.

There was further disappointment on Saturday as Abbey were beaten 4-2 at struggling Maldon and Tiptree.

Tunde Adewunni (2), Nathan Koranteng and Cliff Akurang struck for the hosts and cancelled out goals from Jason Hallett and Jon Docker.
