West Ham United are hoping to agree a deal to sign Hamilton defender Stephen Hendrie.
The 20-year-old left back is out of contract this summer but the Irons are keen to bring him in during this month's transfer window.
The Scotland Under-21 international is valued at around £2m but clubs would still have to pay compensation for him this summer because he is younger than 23.
